MAT Addiction Treatment for Austin Residents

When you find yourself addicted to drugs and alcohol, the everyday activities and events most people take for granted can pose enormous challenges. From how to attend a party and still avoid your triggers to fears about arrest and imprisonment to the knowing realization that you have left your friends and family down, all of these issues weigh heavy on your mind.

Every one of those individual issues is serious enough, but there is one overarching worry that those addicted to opioids and other highly addictive drugs must deal with every time they use – and every time they try to quit. That fear is withdrawal, and the pain of the withdrawal symptoms has stymied many an attempt at recovery.

If you have ever tried to stop using opioids or other drugs the DIY way, you can attest to both its difficulty and its ineffectiveness. No matter how solid your willpower and how well meaning the attempt, in the end, the pain of withdrawal made you fail.

That is a common scenario among opioid addicts and other drug users, but it does not have to be that way, not when there is a much better alternative available. For residents of Austin and the surrounding area, medically assisted treatment, or MAT, is a much better, much safer, and ultimately much more effective alternative to the DIY approach.

Addiction Treatment that
Just Works

Individualized treatment programs delivered in a comfortable, relaxed setting promote healing in your recovery journey.

What Is MAT?

There are a number of acronyms recovering addicts will need to know, including NA (narcotics anonymous) and AA (alcoholics anonymous), but none is as important as MAT. This powerful acronym is a drug recovery shorthand for medically assisted treatment, and it can be one of the best approaches to overcoming addiction in a safe and comfortable manner.

Through the careful use of specific prescription medications, the medically assisted treatment (MAT) protocol is designed to help your body heal slowly and deliberately, giving you a head start on your recovery and allowing you to build up your strength as you take those essential first steps on the road to a better life.

The drugs used in the typical MAT protocol may vary from patient to patient, and when you work with Resurgence we will design a treatment plan that is customized to your needs. The MAT protocol we use for each Austin area resident may be different, guided by their own history with addiction, their past attempts at DIY detox and rehab, and a host of other factors, including the state of their physical, emotional, and mental health.

If you are ready to get started with your own journey to recovery, we know that the medically assisted treatment (MAT) protocol could be the key to your long term success. By giving your body the time and space it needs to heal and giving your spirit the jump start it needs, the MAT protocol can be remarkably effective, and now is the perfect time to check it out. Just reach out, pick up the phone and give the experts at Resurgence a call and we will take it from there.

What To Expect During MAT

If you have been struggling with drug addiction for many years, you have no doubt tried to stop using on your own. Maybe you tried to stop using cold turkey, either on your own or with the help of a well meaning family member or friend. Perhaps you even made a few halfhearted attempts at drug treatment, working with counselors who were overworked and overwhelmed.

In the end, what those attempts at DIY detox had in common was their ineffectiveness, but you do not have to let those past failures get you down. If you are willing to put in the work and give it another chance, the staff at Resurgence is here to help you get it right this time.

The medically assisted treatment (MAT) protocol we design will be fully customized and tailored just for you, based on a host of factors like your health, your history, and your strong desire to get better and take the first steps toward lasting recovery. Through the use of carefully titrated and professionally administered medications, we can give your body the time it needs to begin the healing process, all while keeping you as safe and comfortable as possible. Your path to recovery begins with a single phone call, so pick up the phone and give Resurgence a call today. We are ready to take your call, and we cannot wait to hear from our Austin friends and neighbors.
