Top Rated Alcohol Detox Program for Residents of Arlington, Texas
Alcohol addiction is common and can fly under the radar for some time, as alcohol is one of the only drugs that are readily available almost anywhere, and socially accepted. People sometimes feel expected to drink during special occasions, holidays, and when out with friends. Unfortunately, alcohol addiction can have insidious consequences for your health and well-being.
Resurgence offers an integrated continuum of care while dealing with alcohol addiction, which is why it is the top-rated alcohol rehab program for residents of Arlington. At Resurgence, we have dual diagnosis treatment, so other issues like mental illness and trauma can be treated at the same time, getting to the root of addiction, and creating an opportunity for a long-lasting recovery.
Our intake procedure gives us the opportunity to get to know you and your goals and preferences before we create a customized treatment plan that will best suit you and your budget. We will learn about your health, screen for mental illness, and find out more about what you want to get out of your detox and rehabilitation experience.
Resurgence is in a serene and peaceful location that will allow you to focus on yourself and your recovery away from life’s everyday stresses. Our treatment plan integrates your detox with a full rehabilitation plan including therapy and counseling, clinical care, and medications if needed. You can learn life skills and take courses in vocational training to find new ways to live without the use of drugs or alcohol.
We recommend a minimum of a 30-day stay in residential rehab after detox. Our alcohol detox program does not cure your addiction, but when combined with a full treatment program, you will have a greater chance of remaining alcohol-free for the long term.

What is Alcohol Detox Like?
It is important to detox from alcohol in a supervised, clinical setting. The severity of your withdrawal will depend on the length of your addiction, how much alcohol you have been drinking at a time, your physical and mental health, metabolism, and other factors.
Alcohol withdrawal symptoms may include:
- Anxiety
- Shaking
- Confusion
- Irritability
- Insomnia
- Headache
If a person has been drinking for a long time, drinking heavily, or has other health issues, they may experience delirium tremens (DTs), dangerous withdrawal symptoms that can include agitation, high fever, seizures, and hallucinations. These symptoms can become life-threatening if not treated medically. Some factors that increase withdrawal risk include age, co-occurring addictions, abnormal liver function, dehydration, a history of DTs, and other coexisting health conditions.
At Resurgence, we offer a program called Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT) where you will be given FDA-approved medications in prescription doses to help with your withdrawal symptoms and to keep you safe. Our head nurse is an addiction specialist, and there will be a nurse practitioner onsite during the day to supervise your detox. MAT is very strongly recommended to those quitting alcohol.
Sometimes when a person stops using a substance they are addicted to, very strong emotions and trauma will come back to them. For this reason, we combine our MAT with counseling and therapy, and our 24-hour clinical staff will be there to support you throughout your entire detox, and onward into rehabilitation.
What to Expect During Detox?
Our treatment plans focus on you as a whole person. We know that you are not just “another addict”. You are a person with unique circumstances, and you have been through a lot. Our qualified nursing team uses a trauma-informed approach, so you can feel safe and in control while detoxing. With dual diagnosis, we can treat co-occurring conditions, improve your ability to live your life alcohol-free and reduce the risk of relapse.
Resurgence is a peaceful place to detox and rehabilitate. There is an on-site chef who can accommodate any dietary needs, there are exercise facilities, and the rooms will make you feel at home, with full-sized beds and TVs in every room.
You can expect to be treated with care, respect, and dignity. Our expert staff is empathetic, and many of them are in recovery themselves, so they can understand some of what you are going through.
After you complete your detox, we recommend transitioning into our residential rehabilitation program for a minimum of 30 days, and then move on into an outpatient aftercare program. This is an easy transition, as our facility integrates a spectrum of care, from detox to rehab to aftercare.

How Long is Detox?
Detoxing from alcohol is different for everybody. People come into our facility with different histories, health issues, genetic makeup, family history, and more. This means that the detox timeline varies for every person.
In general, symptoms will start to show up around 6 hours after you have had your last drink, are usually at their worst at around 72 hours, and then you will gradually feel better until your detox is complete. This usually takes around 5 days.
In the first 12 hours, you may feel anxious, with headaches and nausea or stomach pain, with insomnia.
Between 12 and 48 hours, a person experiencing serious withdrawal may start to hallucinate and may even have seizures.
At the peak of withdrawal, around 72 hours, symptoms could escalate to high fever, confusion, delirium tremens, hallucinations, and rapid heart rate. This is the most dangerous period and requires medical intervention to remain safe. At Resurgence, our Medically Assisted Treatment program will get you through your detox and withdrawal, keeping you as comfortable and safe as possible.
Why Choose Resurgence for Alcohol Detox?
At Resurgence, our Medically Assisted Treatment program combines behavioral health, dual diagnosis, and clinical care for a whole-patient-centered treatment, which will set the foundation for long-term, sustained recovery.
We are community-oriented at Resurgence, with game nights and movie nights, sports, and even offsite outings like surfing, hiking, and beach trips, as well as the option to attend church on Sundays. We allow pets, and have couples rehab as an option, for those who want to attend rehab together and work on their relationship at the same time.
Aftercare is a big part of Resurgence’s process. We have multiple options for outpatient programs once you complete residential rehab, and we can give referrals for sober living homes in your area. We often host alumni meetings and gatherings, where past Resurgence patients return to offer support, advice, and friendship. Our sober community will continue to be your support network long after you leave rehab.
